Berlin-Ichthyosaur State Park

You are here: Home » BERLIN ICHTHYOSAUR STATE PARK

My son and I went with friends to the Heart of Nevada and camped in a BLM campground outside the ghost town named Berlin.  What an incredible place to go hiking and exploring. They have guided museum tours of a dinosaur find nearby (Ichthyosaur). It’s amazing to be standing on a hillside, looking across a valley floor and realizing that this 6000+ ft. elevation was once a thousand feet under water. The town has been well preserved, along with other mining towns in the vicinity.

The Park Rangers were very courteous and informative. If you like remote areas of Nevada, it doesn’t get any better than this. Thanks for a great trip Houghton Clan!
